This year festive friends was slightly different, due to the circumstance with COVID19 we delivered 50 hampers full of Christmas goodies! Including a Queen of the South Scarf! Read below our case study from one of our partners!
Over the Christmas and New Year period the team was kept very busy helping with advice about self-isolation support grants and organising the delivery of food parcels and prescriptions for those unable to leave home.
In the run up to Christmas the team was able to identify a selection of people who are ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ and were unable to see friends and family due to the restrictions to receive “Gifts of Kindness” donated by the Communities Directorate, Queen of the South Football Club, and individual Local Authority staff. A wonderful gesture by communities across the region to add some much needed, Christmas cheer. The feedback from those selected was very positive with one gentleman phoning the team to thank them very much and stated, ‘if it weren’t for your gift, I would not have had anything to open on Christmas morning, I thank you from the bottom of my heart’. Other recipients also spoke about being extremely grateful and how it was such a lovely gesture that they were being thought about in such difficult times.
